Jackson Tatham is a Legend!!

Jackson is one of our home owners sons. Jo and Steve are the owners of  ’Marlin’. They LOVE to fish, and so does Jackson. Their other son Tyson is in charge of  ’keeping them real’. Happy just to eat the fish. Well done Jackson.

The information below was emailed to me by his proud Mum.

Please find attached photo of Jackson Tatham, age 8, with his pending State, Australian and World small fry record of a 3.9kg Tuna Kawa Kawa (more commonly known as a ‘Mack Tuna’ on 3kg fishing line.

It was caught in the Exmouth Gulf on Friday 8th October from a 4.2m dinghy after a relatively easy fight of approx 15mins.

A big thankyou to Kurt Decker, weighmaster for EGFC, for making himself available to weigh and complete the necessary paperwork needed to submit for records and to his wife, Jo Decker, for her fabulous picture taking.

Ningaloo Reef Holidays new service van

Paddy lives

Our new service van, is well our first service van! And you will see it working all over Exmouth.

It is a Volkswagon Caddy and we call it ‘Paddy’ due to my Irish heritage (and I also think it is funny calling a German van an Irish name…twisted humour!)

Our cleaners will be using it to call on our homes and I will be using it to call on you, whenever I am in town. So keep an eye out for it when you are with us on holiday and give us the nod!

In case you hadn’t guessed…our website is www.ningaloo.net

Capelfest 2010

Some of our customers will be aware that Geoff and I live some part of the year in Exmouth and some of the year in Capel. Because of this we can have the best of both worlds whilst still keeping our ‘finger on the pulse’ of what is happening in Exmouth.

Before we head north for Easter this year, we will be exhibiting at Capelfest on March 28th. We would love to see any of our south west past and new customers. On the day we will have some wonderful underwater photographic artwork from Matt Gogoll, some mounted photos from local Exmouth artists and obviously some Ningaloo Reef Holiday merchandise for sale.

If you are in the area and planning on visting Capelfest this year drop by. We will be situated just behind the Capel Community Centre in the carpark.

Come and say Hi!

February Accommodation Discounts – Ningaloo Reef

February is one of the BEST months to holiday in Exmouth on the Coral Coast. The Ningaloo Reef is crystal clear perfect, the beaches deserted, fishing pentiful, and the town is quiet.

Yes it is hot, but with all our homes fully airconditioned, and the cooling waters of the beach not far away, who cares!?

We are offering a free night with any booking of 4 nights or more for the month of February 2010. That is potentially a saving of nearly $200 a night in some homes.

With 6 homes, ready and waiting for you to book, right now is the perfect time for a trip to the Ningaloo Reef and Exmouth. Take a day trip to Coral Bay, or a fishing charter to the Murion Islands, or snorkel at Torquoise Bay.

By the way it is turtle season….There is lots happening on our beaches at night!

Gamex Dates 2010

Gamex is the biggest fishing competition in Exmouth as any fisherman will tell you.

Accommodation is at a premium so with this in mind I thought it best to let you all in on the dates early. In the hope that you will book your accommodation early as well. I would hate for you to miss out on comfy bed at the end of all that hard fishing.

We already have Marlin booked for Gamex as the owners are the keenest of keen fishing families. So get in quick.

Gamex 2010 – March 19 to March 27th.

Dont forget the Billfish Bonanza October 23, 24 and 25th 2009.

Time to get fishing!!

To celebrate the Whale Shark season the week-end of 9-10 May is the Ningaloo Whale Shark Festival.

If you are down this way on your Ningaloo holiday just head down to the Talanjee Oval, Murat Road in Exmouth you will come across a special family event.

Entry is free and I gather there will be ballons, show bags, face painting, bouncy castle, dancing and a kids corner with painting, beading and other activities. Sounds like fun doesn’t it.
